AMIT & ANIKA

01.08.15: the day my husband-to-be proposed... and the day I started designing his accessories in my head. Obsessed with Menswear, I knew I wanted something personal and unique to the both of us.

Our design described our long distance friendship which eventually evolved into a romantic relationship. Amit was based in London and I was based in Beijing and then Shanghai. It was only right that these wonderful cities be featured in our bespoke design. Having all thease elements to play with felt like quite a challenge--Not only did I want to portray us but also thinking of the wedding party and what they would be wearing and how the overall theme of the wedding would come together.

Since I was styling the entire wedding party, (you're welcome Suit Supply!) the colours had to go with every attire. Our wedding was a quirky take on a vintage approach with elements of modern twists and since we had two weddings (its an Indian thing) I used the same designs in different colour palettes.

For our bow ties and cravats, I used the first initial of both our names 'A' and the day we were married '19' and constructed a contemporary, unusual geometric design which was special to us but can be worn again by the rest of the wedding party. The pocket squares displayed of the London, Beijing & Shanghai skyline.

It was the first time I had designed something specfically for individual people and it was amazing to see the final result and having people praise a design I created. This experience soldified my passion to help others bring a personal touch to their own weddings.
